This was my go-to tool for boundary line work for over 30 years. It does all the tasks necessary to clear and blaze a boundary line. Occasionally, as for large hardwoods, an axe is better for blazing, but if I just had one tool to do boundary line work in the thick woods of Maine, this would be it. Safety is a real necessity when using it, especially being aware of the hook when clearing.

I've owned one of these now for almost 20 years. Mine actually has a metal belt carrier. It's extremely reliable. I use it in the woods all the time. I keep mine extremely sharp, so I don't let anyone else handle it. One must be very careful with the hook side as it can be easy to catch clothing or your opposite arm if not very careful when swinging it.
I love mine...
